The looks
9 looks for the app on everybody's phone: colours in daylight and after dark, the type, and the mark on the guest of honour. Every kind of event starts under one; Party opens the shelf.
The lodge
Cream paper, bottle green and a brass accent. Reads well by a fire, and by daylight after one.
The app’s own type.
Rosé
Blush paper, deep plum and a rose accent, with a serif on the headings. Made for the photographs.
Headings in Playfair Display, text in Nunito Sans.
Garden party
Sage, cream and a leaf-green accent, with a soft serif. Quiet enough for a long dinner.
Headings in Fraunces, text in Work Sans.
Boardroom
Slate, cool white and a navy accent, square corners and a plain grotesk. Fit for an all-hands.
Headings in Archivo, text in Source Sans 3.
The clubhouse
Oatmeal, claret and brass. The colours of a scarf, a bar and a trophy cabinet.
Headings in Barlow Condensed, text in Karla.
Confetti
Warm white, a bright blue and a pop of orange, rounded everywhere, with a face that is easy to read.
Headings in Baloo 2, text in Nunito.
Plain paper
White, near-black and one blue. Nothing about it says what sort of event this is.
Headings in Montserrat, text in Rubik.
After dark
Black, violet and acid yellow, in daylight too. For a group that will be in three bars at once.
Headings in Unbounded, text in Figtree.
Sunset
Peach, cocoa and a burnt-orange accent, with a tall display face. Poolside, and after it.
Headings in Big Shoulders Display, text in Mulish.
How it is chosen
An event wears the look its kind starts under until somebody picks another, which is one screen in the builder and takes effect on every phone at the next poll. A look is colours and type, never a picture of anybody: the mark on the guest of honour is the only drawing in it.
