How to run it
The app is the hat: one tap gives everybody a secret number from one to a hundred. Nobody shows anybody.
The round
- Somebody names a scale — how frightening, how expensive, how likely to be in your fridge.
- Everybody says one thing on that scale, at the strength of their own number. A ninety-eight says something enormous. A three says something nobody would notice.
- Talk. Compare. Nobody may say a number, or a word that is a number wearing a hat.
- Lay yourselves out in a line, low to high, and turn the numbers over.
Worth knowing
- One out of order and the line is wrong, which is the point and also the fun.
- A vague answer is not a clever answer. The room can ask for a better one.
- Deal it again for a new scale. Three rounds is an evening's worth.
What you need
Nothing. The people in the room and a phone between you.
